The Saugatuck Dunes Coastal Alliance, located in Saugatuck, Michigan, is seeking its first full-time Executive Director. This chief leadership position will lead the organization’s current advocacy strategies while also creating and leading new initiatives to promote responsible stewardship of local lands and water, beginning north and south of the Kalamazoo River mouth. This includes ways to address a defining issue of our time, climate change. The Executive Director will be the public face of the Alliance, building trusted, authentic relationships with current and potential donors, local communities, tribal nations, regulators, lawmakers, board members, volunteers, and the news media.

Executive Director Position

The Executive Director has a unique opportunity to lead an established and respected advocacy organization as we chart a future to focus on land and water restoration initiatives that will benefit the local communities, especially as climate changes pose new and greater threats to the lands and water beginning north and south of the Kalamazoo River mouth. They will also be involved in continuing work to achieve the best outcomes for our litigation, and to monitor and address new and emerging issues.

Several members of the 12-person board play active roles in the organization, particularly in the areas of strategy, finance, fundraising, and communications. We are supported by an outstanding team of lawyers.

The Executive Director will have the budget to hire part-time administrative support.
